Afaf Assas

Afaf’s life was shaped since childhood; “I had a remarkable mother and father who raised me to be independent and taught me values to live by in my life and share among others.” Throughout her career she has met and worked with inspiring young change-makers in Algeria and abroad who offered chances of collaborations and a never-ending learning process. Afaf hold’s a Master's degree in Media and Communication Sciences, where she majored in radio, television, and new media sciences from the University of Algiers. Afaf also is an alumna from California State University Chico in Leadership and Civic Engagement studies and is currently working as a Marketing Manager at the private university "HIS-Higher Institute of Sciences" in Algiers.

Driven by her passion in community building and entrepreneurship. She has demonstrated history in Co-founding, managing, and growing new businesses and community-centered non-profits, as well as to her experience in SDG’s consultancy with UNDP Algiers where she designed and held trainings about SDG’s awareness and launching Sustainable projects for youth and kids. She has worked in the private and non-profit sectors and specialized in working in higher education and youth empowerment. She is skilled in developing partnerships, creating and maintaining strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders and identifying areasfor future organizational growth.
