Hafiz Jawad Sohail is a geoscientist and environmentalist with a decade long history of professional experience and researching dedication towards 'science and solutions' for our shared future on this planetary home, we often call "Mother Earth". His relevant qualifications include his BS Hons. Applied Geology with specialization in Sedimentary and Paleo-environmental Geology. He has also acquired some experience in Public Policy through his master’s in Public Administration and a postgraduate diploma in International and Domestic Environmental Laws. His educational background has given him a solid understanding of Earth Systems sciences and the opportunity to explore the linkages and essence of science-research-policy-laws domains when he applied with on-the-job research and works.

Beyond his enthusiasm and dedication toward climate action and sustainable development, he has a strong working knowledge of the fossil fuel exploration and production sectors, minerals and chemical industry, and on-field surveying as an early career geoscientist and at his previous roles in freshwater conservation, ecosystems management and community services, as a mid-career environmentalist. Currently, he is working as a Research Associate for Climate and Energy Programme of WWF-Pakistan, one of the largest conservation organizations in the world. His volunteer role at UN SDSN extends his capabilities in thematic areas; sustainability and planetary solutions that are best aligned with the latest science. His skills are current and he is up-to-date on the latest in the industry.
