Maria Kangas

Maria Kangas is originally from Finland, and 25 years old. University studies led her to Sweden, where she started off by learning Japanese, to later on go on a cultural exchange to Japan. The time spent with other exchange participants sparked her interest in global issues, leading to her completing her bachelor’s in Development Studies, studying global development, specializing in economic history and sociology. Right now she is completing her Master’s degree, studying Economic Demography, focusing on family economics, but also data analysis.

One of the core values of Maria is the belief in equality of all human beings, and working for gender equality is one of her passions. Professionally her goal is to be able to contribute to a better society, by focusing on her own abilities to do so. As a person she is driven by challenges, which led to her working in India for a short time, as well as going to Egypt for an internship.
