Nadiya Mukhtar
Coming from a place where science programs are given priority over other courses, Nadiya left her engineering degree to pursue English Honours from Cluster University, Srinagar.
She is a staunch advocate for women's rights and has worked extensively for the same. She also feels deeply about human rights violations around her and often tries to dedicate her time to the cause. By the end of a hectic week, you may find her relaxing in the lap of the magnificent Zabarwan mountain range or reading works of Sufi mystic poets on a shikara ride in the Dal Lake.
Born and raised in Kashmir, she has witnessed how the political turmoil has abysmally affected education and hopes to work for it. Gender rights and public policy interest her and she would want to work at an intersection of both.
