Rahel Jigi Kitessa
Rahel Jigi Kitessa has a wide range of experiences in Academia, government organization and non-governmental charity organization as academician, practitioner and development worker for NGOs adding up to 14 years of work experience. She has worked on different leadership positions such as Department head of a unit at higher educational institution, elected for two rounds, and then proceeded to be a part of Senior Management Committee within NGO context.
Rahel’s thematic areas of expertise include working as Assistant Professor and Researcher of environmental and development economics; hence interrelated fields of Natural Resource and environmental Economics, Behavioral Economics, Experimental Economics, Development Economics and Applied Econometrics are areas of specialization.
Rahel has also been interested in Cross-cutting development issues focusing on Community Development, Gender Empowerment, Environment Conservation & Green Development. Hence inclusive planning & development management, local development, & local community empowerment are approaches she supports for effective local development and environmental conservation.
