Vita Mithi
Malawi
Vita Mithi, is a Malawian, with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of Livingstonia. He is the founder of a research social enterprise known as Armref Data for Action in Public Health Research (ADAPHR),a public health professional ,tobacco harm reduction enhanced scholar, researcher and an advocate. His research focuses on tobacco harm reduction (psychoactive drug use)and partly planetary health. He was awarded a tobacco harm reductionscholarship2019/20grant, by Knowledge Action Change (KAC),to conduct a research on, “nature and use of tobacco harm reduction products in Malawi”. Upon successful completion of the2019/20 grant, Vita Mithi was awarded another research grant by KAC, with special attention on toxicology.
He was part of the Harvard Business School of the Gulf Cooperation Council Crossroads Emerging Leaders Virtual Program 2020, and Global Thinkers Forum2020 mentee. He is a registered member of the medical council of Malawi, Maphunziro 265 ambassador, Planetary Health online education community and Quality in Universal Health and Healthcare Thematic Working Group
Vita Mithi is a Christian and upholds Christian values, envisions a world that is one, with access to “the word of life”, “essential medicines” and a “healthy planet”. He is someone who preaches/evangelises the gospel and would like to reach all corners of the world. He aspires a career in implementation research toxicology and public health epidemiology(to be a toxicologist) to help in drug development, fight against tropical diseases of poverty, waste management and ensure that people use safer products and drugs properly.
