Brian KimutaiBrian Kimutai is a dedicated Research Scientist at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) with a strong academic foundation in Microbiology and Bioinformatics. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Biostatistics and Epidemiology, focusing on leveraging data-driven approaches to address pressing public health challenges in Africa.
Brian’s expertise spans molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics, with a particular emphasis on detecting emerging pathogens, analyzing antimicrobial resistance, and interpreting complex biological datasets. He has contributed to impactful projects, including the GREATLIFE study, which integrates metagenomics and conventional diagnostics for diarrheal pathogens, and whole genome sequencing of multidrug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis, focusing on drug resistance mutations and genomic epidemiology.
