Dr Sadya Salar

Sadya Salar is the first openly practicing transgender doctor from Pakistan, renowned for her dedication to healthcare and advocacy. Born on February 2, 1998, she completed her MBBS from King Edward Medical University in Lahore and has since worked passionately to support marginalized communities. As a healthcare provider with the Khawaja Sira Society, Sadya focuses on improving health services for transgender individuals while promoting inclusion and tolerance.

Her leadership spans diverse roles, from leading mental health initiatives at KEMU to representing Pakistan’s transgender community internationally. An AMPLIFY Feminism 2024 Fellow, Sadya raises awareness against gender-based violence, striving for a society free from discrimination. With strong organizational skills, a commitment to teamwork, and fluency in multiple languages, Sadya combines medical expertise and advocacy to create meaningful change, inspiring others to embrace diversity and mutual respect.
