Esther Mensah

Esther Mensah is a Ghanaian landscape restoration enthusiast and climate advocate. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Sociology from the University of Cape Coast. In 2020, she worked with the Department of Food and Agriculture at the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly as a National Service Person, where she assisted Agricultural Extension Officers with field visits to monitor the nationwide Planting for Food and Jobs project.

In 2021, she joined Goshen Global Vision, a nonprofit organisation focused on landscape restoration, as a Geographic Information Systems and Assistant Communications Officer. In this role, she coordinated project activities and mapped landscape restoration extents for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation. Through this experience, she developed skills in forestry, agroecological farming practices, community engagement, communication, and project management. She later joined Hen Mpoano, another nonprofit organisation specialising in coastal management, where she served as an Assistant Project Officer.

Esther is currently pursuing a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Geography Education at the University of Education, Winneba. Her research focuses on assessing the impact of mangrove restoration on enhancing the carbon sequestration potential of wetland ecosystems.
