Hauwau Salele Abubakar
Hauwau Salele Abubakar is a dedicated fisheries scientist and Lecturer II in the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State. She holds a Master of Science degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture and is currently in her third year of a PhD program, building a strong academic foundation through years of focused study and hands-on research.
Her scholarly interests include fish genetics, fish nutrition, and the morphometric and molecular identification of fish species. Hauwau has published in several national and international journals, with research addressing cichlid taxonomy, aquaculture systems, water quality, and fish nutrition. In the classroom, she teaches a wide range of undergraduate courses and supports student development in her role as SIWES Coordinator. She is also an active participant in academic conferences and community-focused initiatives.
Passionate about sustainable fisheries management and food security, she brings empathy, commitment, and intellectual curiosity to every aspect of her academic and community engagement.
