Lindechi Silungwe

Lindechi Silungwe is a Registered Nurse Midwife working with the Ministry of Health at Area 25 Community Hospital, with over ten years of professional nursing experience and more than four years of practice in maternal, neonatal, and reproductive health. Throughout her career, she has become a strong advocate for respectful maternity care and maternal mental health, championing the rights, dignity, and emotional wellbeing of women during childbirth and postpartum.

Currently, Lindechi is pursuing a Master of Science in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Research, a programme that is strengthening her capacity in research, evidence based practice, and the advancement of women’s health. Her academic training enhances her ability to integrate clinical expertise, particularly in understanding and addressing gaps in maternal mental health support, an area she is deeply passionate about.

Besides work, Lindechi enjoys home baking, attending to her flower garden, and spending quality time with her two children.
