Lubna Sharif
Lubna Sharif’s story begins in the small village of Khania in the Kaghan Valley, where her early childhood was shaped by both natural beauty and resilience. In 2005, a devastating earthquake forced her family to relocate to Shinkiari in Mansehra District, marking the beginning of a journey defined by perseverance, steady progress, and determination.
In Shinkiari, Lubna built a strong academic foundation, completing her Matriculation and Intermediate studies at Tameer Millat Hazara Public School & College. Her academic excellence earned her admission to the Department of English Studies at Government Post Graduate College Mansehra, one of the region’s most prestigious institutions. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she consistently ranked among the top-performing students, actively engaged in academic discourse, and explored diverse intellectual interests, graduating with an outstanding CGPA of 3.98. Alongside her academic achievements, she demonstrated leadership as President of the College Readers Club for two semesters and General Secretary of the Social Welfare Society, contributing to campus development and student engagement. She further strengthened her communication and critical thinking skills through debating, public speaking, and organising seminars and intellectual discussions.
Lubna graduated in August 2024 and began a new phase of professional growth as a Visiting Lecturer of English at Government Degree College for Girls. This role provided her with valuable teaching and administrative experience, including delivering lectures and supporting admissions processes, contributing to her holistic professional development.
In early 2025, driven by a lifelong commitment to learning, Lubna gained admission to the Master’s program at Hazara University, Mansehra. Her postgraduate studies continue to broaden her perspective through collaboration with students from diverse backgrounds. She actively participates in the University Debating Society and youth-led platforms, seeking continuous personal and intellectual growth.
Lubna views this phase of her life as an opportunity for meaningful learning and positive social contribution. Her journey from a remote village to academic halls reflects the transformative power of education and unwavering perseverance. She aspires to contribute to education and social development as a researcher and educator, with a particular focus on empowering young women from rural backgrounds. Deeply passionate about literature and critical discourse as tools for social change, she hopes to establish educational initiatives in underserved regions, ensuring access to knowledge for all. She is eager to engage with a global community of thinkers to exchange ideas, gain new insights, and collaborate toward a more equitable and enlightened future.
