Martha Mukai

Martha Mukai is a Kenyan public health and clean-energy innovator dedicated to advancing sustainable cooking, climate resilience, and youth-led development in Africa. She is the Founder of Darubini ya Afya, a social enterprise that converts organic and plastic waste into syngas for clean cooking and produces Eco Char for land restoration. Her work supports schools, communities, and county governments to transition away from firewood and reduce harmful emissions.

She has collaborated with organisations such as GIZ, contributing to financial planning and technical engagement for clean cooking initiatives. In 2024–2025, she represented Kenya at the Paris Peace Forum, where she engaged global leaders and submitted her project for international scaling. She also serves as a youth ambassador and policy fellow with FANRPAN, participating in high-level regional dialogues on climate and food systems.

Her academic background includes Public Health, Nutrition & Dietetics, and HIV/AIDS. She is passionate about developing African-led solutions that address health, environment, and energy challenges while empowering women and young people. Her mission is to build clean, circular, and climate-resilient communities across Africa.
